Default FTRA is the real deal yall.

I netted a solid and consistent 1.5mph after installing the FTRA and sealing up the box w/ duct tape. And believe me 2000 Ws6 sealed it up real good for me. This was the only mod since last time and everything else was consistent.

The ARA(SSRA) is designed to seal up in the back area correctly compared to the other CAI's witch run the weatherstripping over the filter . This allows the air to jump over the filter and exit the backside of the filter when pressure builds.

Good numbers with the ftra though.

What? I've had both the FTRA and the SSRA, and they both installed very similarly. The SSRA didn't even have anything to block the front of the airbox though.

Just FYI, I junked my SSRA and went back to the FTRA. Much better design.

YES! The SS hood doesn't really have that much of a ram air effect.. I did it to my SS and can't believe the difference in pull after 20-30 mph!

Ok here is the process. Install the FTRA, then with the lid and filter removed, duct tape all around the cracks inside of the box area in a nice smooth fashion. Of course, make sure you do not block any of the rectangular opening that the is part of the FTRA. Then with the filter and lid in place, duct tape all around the bottom edges of your air lid where air might escape. Also, put in the rubber seal and then duct tape over that also and just seal everything real good. It may look hidious, but I'm not trying to look good, I'm trying to go fast. Also, at the very bottom of your FTRA where it attaches to your plastic deflector thing, make sure it sets against it flush and duct tape tape that smooth if it's not. I hope you followed that it is hard to explain without pictures.

Just get an ARA. They make that design and they DO include a piece to block of the front of your airbox. If you all ready have a FTRA then check and see if you can find a bottom scoop for it. I heard ARA was making one for FTRA users at a cost somewhere around $80.

BTW the FTRA is NOT the better design IMO but both products do work well.
