Question Pacesetter Headers good or bad???

Hi all,
I have read alot of bad issues about Pacesetter Headers. What is the deal about them. So many fitment issues. I want to get a set for my 2002 Firehawk. Texas speed and performance has there special going on.
But, should I take the chance and get some (with the y-pipe) or not?
Or should I get Macs or ????

Thanks,

screw MAC's, those things suck. if u want to save money then get Pacesetters, if u want top quality stainless steel then get kooks. those are the only 2 u should think about.

i am putting on pacesetters right at this moment... headers look great. there is a fittament issue on the drivers side, but nothing that a grinder and 5 minutes cant take care of... now the pacesetter y pipe??? thats a different story...looks like i will have to do some modding to get it to fit right

I have installed 3 sets of these in the last 2 months and not one of them has taken more than 4 hrs. Only one has required any grinding on the block and that was the first set and looking back after doing the other 2 sets could have probably been installed without grinding. The y pipe was not that much of a problem either. The only problem was with the 2 SS's that had SLP SFC's, The Y had to be modified to clear on the driver side. Performance has been right on par with all other headers as far as I have seen. The one car that has been dynoed picked up 23 rwhp with out tuning

that is most excellent power for price. The Y does suck in the collector weld, but BRAND H gives you 25whp and pacesetter gives you 23rwhp then its likely there a knock off lol. 2whp is enough that tire pressure or heatsoak could account for i bet.

I bought them on the price alone. The rest of the money went to other go-fast goodies.

I have always heard good things about Pasecetters except the collector on the Y is just two pipes welded together. I have heard that they make great power and also fit pretty good. I dont think you could go wrong with LT's for under 400 bucks.

Always wondered, when people say ~25 hp gains are they talking pacesetters with ory versus other brand and their ory or just the headers in general regardless of y-pipe used? If it's only a 2 hp difference or so, I might just go with the pacesetter y when I decide to put these on because it's kind of a pain to find a shop that will fab up a y-pipe without cats!

love mine I got them coated,sims,o/r y for less than 500 and would buy again! Do change the plugs while your manifolds are off. you will never get to the first 3 on the pass, side with them on!

MAC's = garbage ... I had them on my car for almost a year and they produced almost 0 extra hp.... what a waste.

TSP has some good stuff, so I would assume nothing less of their headers. The bang for the buck is definately there, and I'm pretty sure the HUGE savings is well worth a couple minutes worth of custom fitting / grinding.

I used to have Macs, had to sell them for bills, but I really did like them. I won't let anyone bad mouth them, they fit great, they gave me good power, I would do it again in the same situation. Although right now looks like Pace Setter wins.

zero hp from macs huh, you must of forgot to take all the packing foam out of the collectors before you installed them

because i got 21 hp and 20 ftlbs outta my macs and their shitty ypipe with no tuning , which is at if not above what people are getting from pacesetters. and theve been on for 2 years in florida and have no rust on them at all.

i still havent seen enough proof to justify me getting lt's yet

I too have the Pacesetter LT's w/ ORY & custom tuning.
I had absolutely "0" problems with the install & they are holding up very well! My car is driven daily & there is barely any surface rust @ the bottom.
have had them on my car approx 6 months.
