I used a sawzall to remove the tab
no need to remove the starter or steering linkage.

Those with it hitting the k-member, i didnt have that problem at all ???
The only banging i had was on the torque arm but that was because the y was pushed up onto the headers too much.

Well it only took 4hr to install my slp header by my self and I like how they look too

I have installed 3 sets over the last 6 months, 99 Ta, 00 SS, 02SS, On the 02 SS,first install, I cut about 1/8th inch of the block tab.Other than that small modification all three sets went in with NO componets having to be disconnected.(total time for all installs,including ory's was under 4 hrs) And looking back on it,after doing the other 2 sets grinding the tab wasn't probably neccesary. Now having said that the 02 SS headers(mine) were non emissions style,the other 2 were equiped with air/egr provisions. In this area there were some issues. On the 00 SS we hooked up the air but left off the egr because he was going with the LS6 intake and on the 99TA we spent about an hour trying to get the egr tube to line up before the owner said F*** it and was going with edit anyway and decided to delete egr also. Overall I would highly recomend these headers to anyone wanting a awesome hp bang for the buck

Yea, just finished my pacesetter install a few days ago out of my garage and by myself. The ORY and the I pipe are not lineing up so its still not together yet. Broke from X-mas and waiting for payday to take to a shop to do some cutting/welding. The only problem i had (besides doing it all alone except for a case of beer or two) Just loosened the driver side motor mount and lifted the motor up from that side. Went right in and tightened it right back. It was on a 99 TA. Was hesitant at first on doing it but now after its done and i figured it out plus some help from this website im glad i did it. I also had to get rid of the EGR/AIR because they sent me the wrong passenger side header. it was easier to tear that crap off then to swap off the header.
