Talking Nice gains at track with Jet Hots!

I have had the headers on for about a month now and I finally made it out to Gainsville last night. Couldnt ask for better conditions. It was a little colder than last time and drier too I belive. Well I,ll list my best slip befor the headers and then my new best from last night. The only mod done to the car was the Jet Hot long tubes. I even left my back seats and speaker box in this time.

MODIFIACATIONS

PERFORMANCE: Jet Hot headers/off road Y-pipe,Direct flow air lid,Ported throttle body,Taylor wires,NGK plugs,Flowmaster cat back, PRO 5.0 short throw shifter,Descreend MAF,Free ram air,WS6 lower air box,!EGR,!AIR,K&N air filter,Fernco bellows.

SUSPENSION: BMR lower control arms,BMR lower control arm relocation brackets,BMR panhard rod, BMR lowering springs.

Old best:

60' 2.099
330 5.788
1/8 8.741
MPH 83.44
1000 11.262
1/4 13.398
MPH 105.78 ( MY highest MPH was 106.79 but with a 13.462??)

New best:

RT .121
60' 2.083
330 5.689
1/8 8.554
MPH 86.30
1000 10.994
1/4 13.050
MPH 110.03!!!

Not too bad for a set of headers, now some E/T streets to help out that crappy 60'

Is this before or after tuning? I just got my Jet Hots on a couple weeks ago, and haven't yet been to the track. I have the same basic mods as you (though mine's an A4). Wasnt sure if I'd see huge gains before I got it tuned, as its running rich as crap.

I havent got tunning yet. I was going to do it next wekend but now I have to buy a clutch. Found out when my gets hot it stops working

Tally TransAm,

Hey man!! 12.2 at 117!! John Force could get better times with that MPH though. No really, thats freakin moving... now you have to get a rear so you can really see what it will do. I am going to try and make it back out there next wednesday , If I have the nitrous installed. I,ll look for you.

Sweeet...... I think it sounds really good. There is a little bit of rasp but it is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be with out cats. I know other cat backs are suposed to flow better but I dont really want to change the way it sounds. I am just going to get a cut out for now. but I dont think that I have the LS1 flowmster cat back. It was the only thing that was on the car when I bought it. So im not really sure what model muffler it is.

Yeah, jet hots with flowmaster sounds great. At first I had loudmouth with jethots, but that sounded like ***, so I put a flowmaster cat back on instead. It's supposed to flow like crap, but It sounds infinitely better...pluss I can just get a cut out, and that will outflow any cat back.

Nice mph for your mods. Are you powershifting? You should be running around a 12.7-12.8 @ 110mph on a 2.0 60' IMO.

Default Nice

Yeah i agree with Unit. My cousin ran a 13.2 with a lid and cutout with his 01 SS 6-speed. We just finish putting Jet Hots on so we are hoping for high 12s now. i think he will gain 3 tenths or more which will put him in the 12s.

How do the Jet Hots compare to QTPs? Will you see better gains the the QTPs.

Nice run man, get the 60' down and you're there.

IMO the QTPs will not gain any more then the Jet Hots will. The only difference may be that the QTPs are a little better quality header but thats about it. Goodluck

No not power shifting, my clutch is slipping pretty bad, and it barley works when it gets hot. I think mabye thats why im not hitting 12's.I defanetly have the MPH for it. A friend of mine went down with me and ran a 12.88 at I think 109MPH But he was on E/T streets. The new clutch is suposed to be here around wednesday next week. It will be in the car by the next srteet night which I think is DEC 6th. Im sure I could use some more practice as well, this was only my second time ever on a 1/4 mile track.

I dropped 2 tenths after the jet hots, but I was running with 3 ses lights on also. 2 O2 sensors were not active and the A/f was off. This was w/o tuning of course. Sound is great also. Jet Hot LT's, ORY, and SLP DD exhaust.

12.7-12.8 with a 2.0 60ft? Holy crap. There must be something wrong with my car, cause I had a 60 ft of 2.080 and only ran a 13.67 @ 103.xx
