Magnaflow is not going to be a stealthy muffler. You can easily tell its a V8 with it even at idle.

Default Quiet

I just put on the Borla Pro XS, 3 in. Inlet/Dual 2 1/2 in. Outlets, # BOR-40474 . They are nice and quiet. Make more HP than cutouts do.

Probably the most quiet exhaust... that is until both those cutouts are open lol

y is every1 saying headers wont sound quiet?

i did the same thing he is planning....

I have LPP headers, 3" dual dmh cutouts, dual in single out cat, stock style generic muffler and my car is SILENT. It is actually quieter than stock exhaust LS1 cars from what i can tell.

shockwave.. what is the point in dual cutouts on a single exhaust

Z-28 a muffler wont make more power than cutouts unless they somehow create better scavenging which is highly unlikely and depends on each individual application. it cant accurately be used as a general consensus.

the point is ... a free flowing exhaust when opened .... they are mounted on each side before it becomes a single exhaust .... so when opened it would be almost like dual exhaust straight pipes ... almost.

I went with Long tubes to offroad y then electric cutout, followed by the stock piping and muffler, even stock tips to complete the look. idle sounds stock, cruising sounds stock, rev at someone sounds like a v6. lol open the cutout glass shattering!

I have a 99 SS w/ SLP dual dual and ORY. Sounds a little louder than stock, has a great growl about 2100 rpm. No drone, can be real quiet if you drive easy. With cats, it's nice and quiet.
I might barter for a Magnaflow system though, if anyone is interested.

true for the manual cutouts before the y... but it looks like the electric cutouts are after the y. one right before the axle and one right behind it

put a catted y-pipe and magnaflow exhaust. i have 2 friends that have ls1 camaros with magnaflows and no cats. even without cats, it is insanely quiet.
trust me, if you have magnaflow, people next to you at redlights will be able to hear you whispering in your car with the windows up!

Where is your buddy located? I have an SLP dual dual that I've been wanting to get rid of, just don't want to ship it.
