Default Map sensor question with a Fast install

I popped out the map sensor from my ls1 intake. Tossed it onto the Fast 92. Is it supposed to just sit there flopping around? On the ls1 is connect to a built in bracket. On the fast it seems like something could be slid in to hold it in place.

No it's not, and that's a good question. You just saved yourself a lot of time/headache later. A lot of guys have had problems with it not sealing around the MAP w/ FAST intakes.

What I do is go to the parts store and pick up a piece of fuel hose (or whatever rubber hose they stock) that fits snug around the nipple that comes off the sensor. Snip the hose to fit, where it sits just behind the ridge. It'll fit nice & snug in the intake, with no sealing issues.

Thanks a lot for that. I will be heading to the store in the morning before finishing up for a couple things, so I will be picking that up.

I do this: longer bolt up form the bottom, washer and nut over the upper shell. then 2 nuts over a little arm to hold it donw a bit.

That isn't a bad idea at all either. I may have to look into adding that for double security. I did the fuel line thing this morning. Fitment was perfect. Snipped the hose to the length of the original gasket. Caps didn't even charge me for the piece of fuel line. I did end up buying a couple sockets, so they were happy.

Here's a pic of mine. Zero problems after a lot of street miles and track runs.

Be careful with the long bolt method. I did that on my c5 and the clamp hit the firewall breaking the map sensor.
