FAST intake manifolds
I've just had a 427 CID motor completed and have been testing intake manifolds looking for more horsepower and / or tractability.
A custom sheet metal plenum and velocity stack arrangement was disappointing (runner length was too short for such a slow spinning motor...peak power is at 5,600 rpm). This manifold made an added 20 horses but killed torque down low. Needed a hight reving motor to capitalise on it's ability to move air). The build is using a fairly mild cam considering displacement (low 24x/24x @ .580 lift with tight lobe centres).
I've elected to keep a port shaped LS6 manifold for now as it makes better power under the curve.
I am now interested in the range of FAST manifolds. These look to have a better (longer) length runner and can be ported and shaper easily....might be good for some added horses without hollowing out the 'middle' of the power and torque curves.
Anyone here had a play with these on a 'big-banger' yet?.....if so, how did it perform? There's a trade show in Indy soon and I'd like to get one brought home for me .... if someone can tell me if it's worth getting.

And yes, the FAST is a massive upgrade over the LS1's stock intake manifold. Although, it depends on what other mods you have done to the car and what you consider "a whole lot of hp".
Check this out.
