Default Blocking heater nipples

Are you guys using pipe plugs or something on these things? I'm doing a conversion into a 67 bird and don't have a heater core, and don't want one, I need these things sealed up. Would rather not weld them shut in case I use the pump as a core for a new one. Advice? Thanks fellas.

Don't block them, it will cause problems. You need to put a short hose on there to connect them, basically a heater bypass.

How does it cause probs and what probs does it cause to block em?

There was a thread where blocking off the heater in/out on the pump caused engine temp problems. I searched but can't find it.

Never had probs with mine. My temp isnt affected when tested on tuning software

Isn't a little "U" shaped bypass hose the easiest solution instead of blocking anyway?

What about drilling a couple of small holes in the t-stat to allow a small amount of bypass flow?

FWIW, if you want plugs, they tap out to 3/8" & 1/2" NPT. I have the hoses run to my Vintage Air Gen III, but the "heat" valve remains closed (in effect, plugged) 90% of the year and I've had no problems...
