If you are going to powerbrake it do it in 1st gear. A stock car will not burn out in 2nd until after the tires are good and hot. When the tires get hot they get real slick and you can bang it into 2nd gear and roast them for as long as you want!

Why are you holding the brakes all the way down?
How are you going to do a burnout when you have the brakes full depressed.
You can also start off in 1st and after you get the wheels broken loose shift into second and continue the burnout. From 2nd you might need to dump the clutch at a little higher rpm. But first try no brakes.

Start out in first, TC off, rev to 5500k, dump the clutch fast and mash the gas as rpms start to drop, once they pick up and the tires get going, get on the brake just enough to stop forward movement. Then you can release brake, shift to second and repeat up to as many gears as you can keep spinning. Practice makes perfect.

only apply the brakes when you begin to roll forward, you shouldnt be standing on the brakes. i could easily do a burnout in my stock a4 car.

Hey bro, I just got the technique for a burnout down myself. Guess what happened? My clutch is slipping and needs replaced. I can still drive the car but have to baby it big time. Any more then a very minimal amount of throttle and she slips.

Are you backing into any water first ? I learned at the track myself. I was guided into the water, pullled fwd, reved to around 4k or so and dumped the clutch and applied adequate pressue to the breaks. Tires got spinning very nice !! 2nd gear BTW.

Just get a $150 line lock before you break something or burn out the clutch.
