I'm thinking that with all the other advantages to having a tubular K-Frame, this header install makes it's investment all that much more worth it.

I would put "tubular K-Frame installation" on my "must do" list.

I'm planning on doing headers, K-Frame, Y-Pipe and cat-back in one shot. I still have the tubular upper & lower control arms and 13 inch SSBC brakes from the '94 which is finally being parted out.

No way I would have gone through all that trouble to get a set of crappy fitting headers to fit. Even if I got those headers for free, I wouldn't have done all that cutting and welding. How well are the collectors lining up? Are they close to floorpan? Do they even point toward the rear of the car?

Besides Once I made one cut I might as well finish. I'm sure I was more **** than necessary but thats me.
Thanks for all the support, mentally that is.
PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THIS QTP's FAULT. THEY HAVE A GREAT PRODUCT!
Well FYI, I bought a used set of QTP's with the QTP badge, and my floorboard doesn't look quite as bad as yours, but I was under my car with a grinder the same as you. I would have had to cut my k-member except the holes for the header bolts are large enough I could jack on the back of the headers, and tighten them so it wouldn't hit my k-member. Although I think they still are contacting something when I corner, they are clearing for the most part now. I've heard if you do motor mounts when you're doing the headers, it can eliminate clearance issues. I did not replace mine, and should have.

On the other hand, although they were a bitch to install, my 99 Firehawk with 123k miles and an M6 made 340rwhp, and 350rwtq with just an LS6 intake and QTP 1 3/4" LT's. Dyno graph's linked below:

2 years ago unmodded vs now with LS6 and QTP:

tuned vs untuned:

I've been told that QTP outsourced their header manufacturing and that is when they started to not fit as well. I'm pretty happy with my numbers, but my fitment has been a bitch.
