carb the same or better HP than injected. But it's going
to be a hack-job bitch to get a carb under the cowl on
a 4th-gen.

honestly unless the car is full out race car and has more than 1200 hp i see going carb as a step backwards
hell then the next thing you can do is put leaf springs on it too!!
the usual mod-ups, but I have to say that in 25+ years of low-rent
beater-drivin' I have spent a lot less time, effort, money on carbs
and distributors than on the couple of EFI vehicles I have owned.
One carb costs like one set of injectors, only any Shade Tree Joe
can clean and rebuild a carb. And if you run out of carb you just
go a little slower than possible, while running out of injector makes
holes in stuff. I had a Cadillac that ran OK enough, that I was
surprised when I went to rebuild the carb on a whim and found
the bowl full of lawn clippings. They're just much more forgiving.
Don't ask me how the crud got in there. But a little bit of fine
silt will just ruin your EFI (been there, twice). And you've got to
love all the closed-loop sensor-happy comedy potential.
Yeah, yeah, modern electronics, diddy-wah-do. I work with it all
day long. Nothing like that, to make you mistrust complexity.
