Paint my TSP duals? What do you think should I paint my TSP duals before I put them on or not worry about it? they will most likely see some rain as its my DD but in Florida no snow or anything..lol. It will be easy and not take long to paint, but just wondering if I should worry about it..
I wouldnt just because the paint will eventually fade off, and before it does it will just emphasize any scratces that you would get in the pipes if you nick em on a speed bump or anything.
I painted mine and every once in a while I check them for scrapes and have had to touch them up once on the bottom of a muffler. I also didn't want to see rust and mine have been rust free for 3 years and still look great. I used the high temp ceramic paint.

how about you clean them up real nice, and put a high temp clear coat on them. They will be protected from rust, oil, have that nice polished look and will be easier to wipe down. I like to use duplicolor high temp ceramic engine enamel.
Just painted the headers i bought used and the y-pipe i got new that are about to go on the car. It can only make things better, so I say go for it. That way there will be no "i wish i woul've" after you install them.
I painted mine silver or aluminum, can't remember which exactly but it looks just like the aluminized finish on the pipes. Very hard to tell anything is even on them other than the welds and scrapes are not rusting. Pic of them after two summers including driving in the rain. Don't mind that exhaust leak on the drivers side

Just clean them with brake cleaner and a wire brush to get all the junk off them. When I do my converter Im going to paint my current exhaust that way as well.

I believe the pipes are, but not the mufflers themselves..
Got any pics? I would like to see how it looks black.. I may do that..
The duals are for my Z28, not the SS in my sig..

Ok yea paint them silver for sure. I have silver painted Duals. They have been on the car for over 3 years and have never been stopped because of them. Paint them silver they will stand out. You will like them that color.

I did that with my TSP y-pipe and after a few heat sessions the thing turned yellowish brown color.
