Keep the stock LS1 coolant lines and knock the "ribs" off the bottom of the intake. Here is what mine looked like afterwards

You can either do as above and shave the ribs down or I have even seen where ppl mold the existing line to fit underneith. Or chose 3 and get the 01+ setup.

Just knock the ribs flush with the bottom of the intake

so if you knock the ribs off, its a straight swap from ls1 to ls6? or do you still have to do other things? going to a ls6 intake would gain me another 20-25 hp with my cam. hmmm..

This link will give you a step by step with photos on how to do the insall. This mod should give you about 24/17 for a nice performance increase.

You'll have to block the EGR ports off on the exhaust as well and remove the EGR valve as the newer intake has no place for the EGR tube to go.

I would have a oil pressure sending unit on hand just in case u can get it at Oreily's or AutoZone if u don't need it just take it back.

If you lift the intake straight up instead of leaning it back when you remove it you will not break off the oil pressure sending unit.
