Default just hit 75k miles, on stock belt!

My car hit 75k miles last night, and I have not even changed the stock belt yet! I'm sure it needs to be changed real shortly, just have the new belt in the garage. I'm seeing signs of detoriation on the ridges inside of the old belt.

Time for a new belt and tires

The passgener side wiper blade seperated from the base rubber at 78k.
Changed the stock belt at 78k too cuz it was making a squeaking noise.

Wow, mine was full of cracks with less than 24,000. I changed it just as a precaution.

Changed mine at 95000. Didn't change the A/C one until 115000, still got something squeeking.

I changed mine at about 70,000 miles just for precaution. IIRC mine cost me about $30-$40 at Auto Zone. I couldn't believe it either. I think it was a GoodYear belt.

Jeez I don't know why they're making the LS1 belts expensive.

My bro works at a local auto parts store and when i asked him to get me a new belt for my car, he told me it'd be about $60 bucks for it. The next day he charged me a @cost price of $15 bucks. I think he was looking at a different brand. I would prefer the Daytona belt (that's the stock belt on mine) rather than the **** brand name with "made in North Korea" print on it...

I have used search, have not found anything on it.

Can someone explain the best place to take the tension off to change the belts? Is there a writeup anywhere?

Thanks
