Default which mufflers for 3" duals

I am looking to buy some mufflers my car, it currently has a dual 3" dynomax bullets with no H pipe, but it is way too loud under all driving conditions. i want something that sounds good but isnt too loud on the highway, i was leaning towards borla's or hooker aerochambers, but i was hoping to get some opinions before i buy something

x2 on the magnaflows. Had them on my black SS with 3" true duals. Sound was great at idle, and screamed at wot. Here's a vid or two.

Mac Flowpath mufflers... Very popular among the mustang crowd but, I think they sound pretty good on f-bodies too.

I assume you mean you have an X pipe when you say no H?

I went from dynamax bullets to 4x9 magnaflows and it honestly didn't make it much quieter. Its slightly more bearable now tho according to the wife.

I took no H pipe to mean that there is no crossover tube. Adding a 3" crossover right where the Y merge would normally be will knock a little volume out of your setup. I ran Borla XR1 and they were bareable. One thing that reduces sound in the cabin is to not have a turn down on the end of the muffler.

Ok, so do you have an x pipe or are the bullets right off the end of your headers. Cause if so, thats why its so loud. the longer the pipe the quieter will be and adding some sort of crossover will also help

I'm going the quiet route on mine:
high flow cats
Magnaflow stainless 4x9s
Dynomax bullets

I want deep, smooth, not raspy, and a roar at WOT. I think I'll get it...

I've got single chambers on my 3" H-pipe, ran out the back (under the axle), and it sounds absolutely perfect. It's very loud at WOT, and near silent on the highway. I love it. I can make it loud when I want, and keep kinda quiet if I want.

black00ss....that sounded pretty good. Not to loud but would get loud as you got on it. So those were the Magnaflow 4x9's? Also, did you you use a X or H pipe and was it dumped or out the rear. Thanks.

Im narrowing down my search for what set up I want to use.

I ran 3" and flowmaster super 44's to the rear axle, flanged it and dropped to 2.5" thru 2.5" short summit glasspacks. Sounds great, pretty quiet driving around and screams at wot.

Used an x-pipe. Exited at the rear, under the axle. Wasn't dumped. Highway noise was very liveable.
