Default Pictures of my wrapped headers

I am doing a few upgrades this weekend one of them being headers, obviously I still have to spray them with the silicone paint, but the wrap is still a bit damp. Me and buddy did this last night, safety wired all of it. The clamps included in the kit do not do **** to hold the wrap at all.
Let me know what you think

Should keep under hood temp down. How can that hurt? What's the down side?

Man, I hope the stink goes away on the 300 mile road trip I am taking after the install. Can you smell them even with the windows up? I am hoping for reduced underhood temps, better scavenging and maybe a little sound deadening, plus I think it looks bad ***, everyone has coated or plain stainless headers nowadays.

I am just curious why do companies void warranties for wrapping headers?

Companies usually void the warranty because when a headers is wrapped its possible to trap moisture in the wraps and rust the headers.

Thats why you do it before installing! No seriously, on another car I just wrapped headers with exaust jackets, major PITA when on the car but easier than a full wrap

I watch them wrap a set of headers for the LS1 on Power Block. It kept the temperature down 40 degrees from non-wrapped headers. So I've seen it keep temps down.

beautiful job. I've heard that for every 10 degrees cooler your headers are it's like 1hp. Not sure if that's true.

dude you did a real nice job wrapping them. I want to wrap my headers when i get them, but im afraid it might make the install harder since space is so tight.

I also believe it voids header warranties because the extra heat can help crack the headers.

depending on the area and what you personally like it varries. myself I fish, hunt ,drink ,screw, drag race ,bullshit with my buddies, and 4wheel everyonce in a while. However if you like the club scene there is plenty if you like concerts there are tons of them. The only bad thing here just like anywhere is you gotta have money to play otherwise you go fishing lol.

you're thinking of intake air temps.

header wrap keeps the underhood temps down, not the temp of the header themselves. they actually keep heat IN, which is what helps increase the efficiency of the header.
