Default Intake manifold decisions.

So I've been doing a lot of reading and researching online, because I didn't wanna be that *** that gets on here and says, "which intake is the best?". Well, I wanna know which one would be best for me. Ls1 block, ls1 intake, ported and polished heads, mild to average cam(nothing crazy radical), and hooker long tubes.

What I'm wondering is if I can go TOO big? I've been looking at bbk and typhoon intake manifolds. Can I go with something with an 85mm inlet, and have it ported to be larger so I can put a larger tb on it? Would a 96mm overpower the rest of my build and sacrifice drivability?

Thanks for the help guys, I'm new to the fi game.

Question- what intake do u have now Ls1 or Ls6? People on here are running in 10s and 11s with an Ls6 cant got wrong with that. U could pick one up on here used for $300-350.Cheaper than a Weiand and the BBK i know is like $400 new and rarely see one for sale used. Some like the look of it.the Fast Intake is better than Ls6 i believe but in alot of cases not worth the difference in price.

I'm rocking an ls1 right now. I'm just wondering if I get an ls6, if I can have the mouth opened up to accept a larger throttle body.

TPI specialties has an exchange program where they open up or should i say replace the front snout of the Ls6 intake to a 90mm like an Ls2 intake. I think its $350 but u have to send your intake in and u will be down a few days to a week.Theres threads on here about it and suppose to gain 15rwhp and gains are compared to the FAST 90. u will also need a 90mm TB. I almost went this route but couldnt deal with the downtime. If u try to open up the stock Ls6 intake opening, i dk how much u can safely port but it u mess up u could damage the intake

So since I'm stockers with the ls1 intake, i'd be best off just spending about $400-$500 and getting something with a 85mm-95mm mouth already?
