Id spend the $45 on poly mounts. I was unaware of the banging issue until I experienced it, lol. Pacesetter headers/tsp catted Y. I purchased a mufflex bumpstop and it helped but I ended up ditching it for poly mounts. It would have been much easier to install them if I hadnt already had the headers on.
Oh, and there is no difference in how the car feels with poly engine mounts. The poly trans mount is what kicks your ***.

i should have listened to you... but i got excited... now i gotta put in polys
Find the thread about poly mounts that has been going since like 2006. There is a lot of info about the poly mount install there. I did mine with the headers/starter on the car. It can be done! Just a really annoying install...

I'm sorry to say, when I did my header/polys install(s), installing the motor mounts was the most difficult part. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm simply saying, you will defintely want to exercise some patience when doing the polys. Good luck, man.

well i just got off the phone with a shop here locally who said they would install my poly mounts for 150 so i aint even gonna jack my car up for that... i gonna pay to have that done....
Just kidding, man. Wow! Thats a great price. I'm nowhere near a professional and there's no way I'd charge less than $200 to do motor mounts. (Unless, of course, it was for a friend.) So I'd say you're getting a killer deal. Good call.
