not unless someone already changed it out. 2K's didn't come with the LS6 intake.

Does it have an EGR tube right behind the throttle body?

2001-2002 Camaros came with a LS6 intake. I can get you the part number tonight if no one gets it before then.

I've actually been searching for awhile about this same thing. I just bought my 00 Z28 M6 as well and was wondering if it had the LS6 in it or not. Was looking for a visual clue but they're damn near identical unless you take em off. Where is the part number even located on the intake? I could find out by walking outside but I'm a lazy *** lol.

If your intake doesn't have an EGR port behind the Throttle Body, than it is more than likely an LS6.

This isnt a good indicator. I have an LS1 intake without EGR and its not an LS6, I think it came off an earlier vette.

ok, i found out that a stock ls1 intake manifold part # is 12560688 with EGR.
now, that is what i have. I wish i already had an ls6 intake.
I decided to go out tonight and look for the part number instead of da morn.
so now.. i heard i FAST intake is the best way to go. but its also expensive.
will the slp gain me as much Hp and with a lower cost? is it worth it in the long run?

FAST is an option for a high power engine. A factory LS6 is a great option for the lower powered engines, but still does well on high power mills to.

I would kinda say this if your not building a race car then take the LS6. Look at my sigs, the numbers was from a dyno dynamic and I put down on a mustang dyno 389rwhp and 377rwtq. An it still pulled pretty decent on top end. That's all up to you what you want but I'm pretty sure you can find a BBK SSI, LS6 or Weiand intake for 300 to 350 to your door in the classifieds. Just watch the Part number on the intake if you go for an LS6 cause one of the Vette years had a LS1 intake with no egr. Comments welcome everybody.

My opinion on the fast is it is likely my last step in my NA build. Im lucky to have a good LS6 intake now and would rather add some cnc heads for around the same price first then do a used fast down the road and be done.

Just remember one year the vette had an LS1 intake on it without the EGR tube in it some that's not the most accruate way to tell. You will pretty much have to have the parts numbers to be safe and not get scammed.

i have never heard of an ls1 intake without egr on an f-body from the factory. vette yes, but f-body no. i suppose you could have the 1 out of a million car that someone damaged their intake and replaced it with an intake off a vette and then sold it to you? lol

You didn't read what I'm saying did you. No I didn't say an LS1 intake without egr came on a factory f-body. I said the vette, look at it again. But a couple of months back someone was on ebay trying to sell that LS1 Vette Intake as an LS6 intake. An if someone was a newbie or didn't know no better they might would have bought it. A member from here caught it and people from our beloved site jumped on it and they removed the auction. I'm just saying watch the part number cause someone could try to pass that intake on as an LS6 when it's an LS1. An no I've done all my homework and got an LS6 intake from a 04 GTO with LS6 intake matching numbers.
