Default Which Puller to Remove Powerbond Pulley?

Starting my H/C swap and need to find out which pulley puller to use on a Powerbond Pulley? Will the 3 ply spec'd for Chryslers work? I read on here I can rent one from Autozone. My mechanic installed it for me, now I need to get it off, thanks.

I had a 3 bolt puller that was a generic from harbor freight for about 10-12 bucks. I got frustrated trying to use it so I hooked a generic 6 inch 3 jaw puller on the front lip and pulled it that way. The factory pulley doesnt have this lip so you cant do it. The powerbond has the threaded holes to use the bolt type puller.

Gotcha, so I need the 3 bolt type puller, not the 3 jaw puller, right? Thanks

Cool beans, now I have to cut my welded Y so I can drop the headers. The idea seemed good 2 years ago when I had it installed hahahaha

Not yet, I rented it yesterday, but spent the evening removing the exhaust/headers and heads. Probably wont' be able to get to it maybe saturday, sunday for sure. I am cleaning parts as I go too, and taking lots of pics....so far smooth sailing, knock on wood.

Good stuff, removal went nice and smooth, the crank bolt was a little tough, but other than that, so far so good.

Do I use the 3 jaw pulley to remove the crank sprocket? It didn't look like the Chrysler one would work?

I think people have used those to remove the crank sprocket, but I've never done that myself so I'm not sure. Pretty sure the Chrysler one wouldn't work for it like you already suspect...

Aside from the fact they're heavier than ASP's, this is yet another reason I do NOT like or use these pulleys. Pain in the *** to get off sometimes.

ASP "FTW" (Did I really just say that)
