Default My new exhaust 3" X-pipe w/Dynatech Splitflows

I have been through several exhaust set ups and this is what I have been searching for. It's only 3" but flows plenty for our high 9 second 408. I'll likely do an identical set up in 3.5" for our bigger 460 pump gas engine. It's crisp and quiet (considering the engine set up) at idle, but screams at WOT. I used a Pype's universal X-pipe kit and Dynatech Splitflows mufflers.

How well does it quiet it down? Would a wife ride with you or would a state trooper look over? I've been interested in the little insert that they have that is supposed to quiet the exhaust down too.

ive been wondering about these muffs myself.
not sure the difference between them and the borlas. not sure which one would be more quiet.
nice setup. real clean.
what was on the car before? any ET difference between setups?

I've also had the Borlas and they sound good, but there is a noticable difference in sound tone. These Splitflows have more of a crisp metallic sound. I had DNA mufflers right off the collector before I swapped to this set up and there was no gain or loss in ET/MPH even though I added a lot more piping.

It is significantly quieter and would easily pass on the street next to a state trooper.

one louder than the other, or just a different tone?
ive looked into the borla "multicore" 4" muffler for my catback to tone things down, but the muffler is 350 bucks.
its the same technology used in the dragster collector mufflers, and they are pretty quiet for what they are.
run through a y pipe and an over the axle pipe, its got to kill more noise.
muffler is big at 27" long 5.5x8.5, but i have a 30" diesel muffler under the car now thats 8" around.
it fits in the stock location nice.
want to replace it, or go with a dumped setup.
i cant ever be happy with an exhaust. change it daily.

The Borla multi-core muffler is supposed to be the quietest best flowing muffer out there. It's high dollar, but it's quiet and performs well.

The Borlas I had were also right off the collectors so it's hard to compare to my current x-pipe set up, but I would guess them to be equal in loudness, but a different exhaust note.

I used to be a member of the "unsatisfied exhaust set-up" club myself.lol.

This set-up makes me smile every time I fire the car up. My neighbors are much happier too.lol

i love the setup of my diesel muffler now, its super quiet for what it is, but it would be nice to save a pound or two and clear up the back of the car so i can sump my tank.
building a set of headers, so i have to change my y pipe up, might as well go all out!
