I didnt ddo poly mountss for my install and havent had a problem with my ory banging but mines an 02 so the rubber may not be as worn out on mine yet. However I also did a 2.5" ory that merges to 3" that came with my bbk's. I'm not sure what the point is for a 3" ya all the way to the merge as 4 cylinder really cant fill up a 3" pipe especially if the rest of the system is 3" for all 8 cylinders. Just some food for thought if you wanna minimize the chances with the stockk y.

I would do the mounts while your in there. I did mine while i am doing headers and tranny work. Its a piece of cake to do with no manifolds in there. There only like $50 so go for it. Also when removing the passenger side manifold, I had to take the ignitioncoils off the valve cover, so instead of putting it back on , I removed both of them are am relocating it to under the cowl. CC performance makes a kit. Just something to think about. It makes so much more room to do plugs and put the headers on.

Here are some pics without the manifolds and y on. If you take off the alternator and move the compressor towards the front of the car, you can get to all of the bolts. From the top of the car you can see pretty much the whole mount. It took me about 2 to 3 hours each side with lots of breaks in between. I just did one side a night.

One more thing I forgot to mention...

We used reflective/insulated tape to wrap the starter wires near the passenger side header. I'm not sure how many others do this because I don't hear it mentioned very often, but thats one more thing to consider. Although, the tape isn't cheap. I didn't purchase it myself, but my friend, who's car we cut our teeth on, found it for something like $25-30 a roll. Like I said, not cheap, but it seems to work. No trouble with burnt wiring. Good luck with your install, man.

Well.... my registration is up in February and I have to smog it for this year. My plan was to smog soon and just do the install after that. If all else fails I can transfer the title to Oklahoma and just register it there. One of the many perks of being military .

Yes, there are some people who do the LT swap, but have to swap back to the stock stuff for inspection every couple years. Or they use the shorties & retain the stock cat position.
What's yer plan? Can you get away with it?

Any of you other Kali-Fornians have any suggestions or similar packages?

Did the mounts on my car too when I put the headers on. I have 33,000 miles on it and one of the stock motor mounts was starting to tear...Glad I listened to everyone and did them...

They will probably take you the longest...good luck
