Default Anyone done an oil pressure warning light?

I think this should be one of the most important lights we have in our cars. Does anyone, or has anyone installed a warning light that illuminates if the oil pressure falls below a set PSI, say, 20 PSI. I think they'd be invaluable. If it illuminates you can shut the motor down IMMEDIATELY and prevent serious engine damage if your oil pump were to take a dump on you.

On my Elcamino I have a Autometer Prolight oil pressure light, you can buy sending units that turn the light on at different pressures, I have mine set to come on @ 10 psi. I wouldn't see any reason that you couldn't use the same setup on an LS1, but you might need to put the pressure sending unit in a different spot than the stock where the stock one is.

We use the autometer warning light, you can buy different pressure switches (15 or 30 etc) that will signal it to come on when your oil pressure reaches that.

The sensor goes into the cover with 2 bolts on top of the oil filter, then the light just mounts on the steering column, dash or wherever else you can find that will be visible. Its fairly easy to install.

Good luck!

So the sensor acutally fits into the motor near the oil filter, correct? Then just run the wiring into the car to the light?
