1969mach1, the slip on collector is actually slipping on to the primaries. There's no room for clamps on the primaries which is why they will tend to leak and cause O2 sensor problems.
When you slip a pipe onto the other side of the collector, there's plenty of room for a large clamp and thus no leak.

you might be right.I have a code once in awhile either 1133 or 1153 due to minor leak on the band clamp.I just clear em with my scanner.sooner or later Ill figure it out to stop the leak.

I think that could be up for debate bbks come with a y pipe in chrome for $369 shipped to the door these are about $260 plus y pipe. So in the end they are around the same price but the bbks are at least coated in chrome whereas these arent however these are stepped up to 1 7/8. Then again these sometime leak and have some small fitment issues, my bbks fit great and dont leak. I think in the end its a tossup...

O my goodness think i might of finally found the headers santa will be getting me. ofcourse ive said this bout ten times before. If i got the ones with a welded slip on collector then i shouldnt have any leaks right?

I tell you what, those are some really monster headers. 3.5" collector! flow won't be a problem. It's a shame that folks don't look to Edelbrock more often for their LS needs. I hear their throttle bodies are nasty too, and priced pretty well actually. Good buy on the headers yall. Post up some pics when you get them. Don't forget the standard 12oz dr perky can clearance pics too so we can see how close the speed bumps are going to be.

wouldnt it be alot easier to have them welded before i put them on? it seems like you would have alot harder time welding all the primaries if you have to worry about the car too..
and does anyone know how to tune the length? should i even worry about that kinda thing or just have a shop weld it and forget about it?
