Ported LS6 Intake?
Its probably safe to say that if you can port it to 85mm and pick up an 85mm TB that there is some power to be had. Engines are just a giant compressor. More air in more out.
That's not true. I have spent alot of time testing & commenting on the subject & am don't spen much time re-stating the findings. Basically, an LS6 peforms best when ported to 85mm w/ an 85mm TB. The last mod that should be performed on an LS6 intake is a runner porting. First are filter, TB, CA intake size, then 85mm MAF, LS6 opening to 85mm w/85mm TB. Only port runners if you have tuning software that measures & confirms that the runners are a restriction. This won't be the case until using high flowing heads w/ an aggressive cam. Even when the runners become a restriction, it doesn't take much porting to get them where they need to be.
I'm not sure which is a bigger waist of time, porting a LS6 intake or bringing a 3yr old thread back from the dead instead of using the search button. I've searched this before, yes it can be done, and the 85mm TB is probably worth a few Hp but not that much more than a properly ported stock TB. If you've got good enough heads that a LS6 intake is holding you back then just buy a fast and be done with it.
