Flowmaster "one chamber" mufflers
Hey all,
I'm looking at having a custom TD system built that dumps before the axle. I've searched and done research and found that the Flowmaster "one chamber" mufflers seem to appeal to me the most. I'm assuming that by "one chamber" people are referring to the "Flowmaster Delta Force One Chamber Race Mufflers" (PN 9430119).
My only concern (besides the fact that they cost double what the Moroso Spiralflows and other bullet-style competitors cost) is getting them to fit. My car is at a stock ride height and will remain that way, but I've heard that getting a 4-inch case tucked up under the car can be a challenge. Does anyone have pics with these mufflers (or similar ones) and how you've run them on your car? Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks in advance. As always, LS1Tech is my first stop for help.

The flowmaster crossflow mufflers do kinda sux. But the 1 chambers kick ***. I took off my bullets and X junction for 1 chambers. I personally like the sound and Not much difference in power and Track times didnt change. Flo Pro makes chambered mufflers compareable to the flomasters, but without the delta flo stuff. I am lowered on strano springs also. will try to get pictures up.

I put a Dynomax bullet and a knock-off one chamber side by side and they are the same height. If you look around you can find a knock-off one chamber for about the price of a bullet. I paid $85 for two one chambers shipped.

Run the exhaust out the back. Yes, you can run 3" duals over the axle and out the stock location. And you can do it with a chassis mount torque arm and better ground clearance than the stock pipes. How big are the axle tubes on that Dana?
Don't dump it. The lack of tailpipes looks dumb on the Trans Ams and the resonance will annoy you.

Don't buy the actual Flowmaster's, they're rip-offs. There's plenty of other companies that make the same muffler, for a fraction of the cost. Flowsound, Performance-Curve, etc. I have Flowsounds on the T/A, and had the Performance-curve ones on my LT1 Camaro. I think I paid somewhere around $60 shipped to my door for the pair both times. As for placement, I have mine right under the axles on the T/A, and have never scraped anything. On my Camaro, I had them tucked up under the gas tank, right before the tips and it worked out well. But, with them way back there, it didn't really have much interior resonance, and wasn't loud enough, in the car for me, despite being very loud behind it. lol

Reason I asked was bc Im gonna run a custom Y and a flowmaster merge with 3 in into a single 4 inch out and was gonna do one flowmaster single chamber with a turndown before the rear end. I have true duals with bullets already.
