Default Sealing Airbox w/ FTRA

I bought the kit used, and it did not come with the gasket or weatherstripping that was used to seal up the box. I have read that the weather stripping is 5/8 in width and that I can pick it up at Wal-Mart. There is also a black gasket that seals the inside of the lid I believe, and FT's said I could order that from them. However, is there a better way to seal up this entire unit for max vacuum than using the instruction methods? I don't want to tape the outside of the box though do to appearance, but would be open to anything else! Thanks.

The kit comes with "door" molding. Just measure the opening and buy a piece that will fit securely in there.

Where exactly does it go at? I have read the instructions, and am a little fuzzy still. Thanks.

So it just runs along the bottom of the airbox on the outside?

Diagram H has a full length picture of it. It's the part blocking the air gap below the clips.

I went to Wal Mart and got 1"wide door weather strip material. Just look at where there are gaps in the lower air box and place the weather strip there. It will all make sense one you place the lower airbox on the car. The weather strip is used to seal the bottom of the box to the car and stop air leaks.

Thanks! I have one problem now. What are the mounting screws they are talking about in the kit? My kit didn't come with hardware(used), so I went out and got what I needed, but didn't know what these were. I know they go into the 7/64 holes that you drill, but how long do they need to be, and the size they are also?!?

The screws are short no more that 1" if that. I would say use a 1/8" sheet metal screw.

I used tape...duct tape, works perfect, just make sure you wipe down the area you're goign to tape or it won't stick.

Thanks Steve for the screw size help, and everyone else with sealing and ftra help in general!
