When I purchased my Camaro, it had the stock manifolds, cats, and a LM1 catback. Honestly, it wasn't too harsh for daily driving at all. Even the girlfriend didn't mind it and it wasn't difficult at all to have a conversation in the car or listen to the radio at a moderate level. However, like SSmoken said... once you go Longtubes (at least with an off road y), it's insanely loud. Rasp like you wouldn't believe too. After a few trips of mind numbing noise, I finally switched to a Magnaflow, and couldn't be happier. Fitment was kick ***, and the look of the quad tips made my SLP look like ****. From this example, I honestly believe the Loudmouth is going to be louder for you in all aspects... driving around, wide open throttle, but still tolerable. I wish you could find a LM2 sound clip... does your Blackberry do YouTube? I typed in a search with "LS1 Loudmouth 2" and got a few links to come up. If it works, give it a shot. From what I've read, the LM2 is quiter than the LM1 with little to no difference in power loss. Good luck man. Sorry for the long post.

These 2 exhausts are almost at opposite sides of the spectrum...I have a LM1 w/ cats and its loud, my buddy has a Lm2 catted its also loud......Alot of modded guys run magnaflow, its a popular exhaust and sounds good.

Decisions, decisions. If I knew the magnaflow with the 4x4 tips would look okay I'd just get it with a lid kit...if its worth it. I may just get a K&N filter and lid. Anyone got a picture of the 3.5 tips on a trans am? I'm going to try a search real quick...

SLP Powerflo is the best catback on the market imo and i've had a few different setups. Search "detoxx03" on youtube and you'll see my car. Oh yeah some of them I have my cutout open.

When I bought my exhaust I bought the LM2. Fits great easy as hell to do. The resonators are easy and pretty cheap so I thought I would try the LM1. It sounded good, but the LM2 has a deeper more throaty sound to it. Now with my shortys and my ORY it sounds awesome. Never to loud, but never to quiet. Do yourself a favor and listen to Detoxx's videos. The powerflow sounds amazing.

I vote lm1... I think it sound good! I had a SS with full slp system on it from longtubes all the way out the back with LM1 and I like it... But yah it was DEF loud... I think the magnaflow is a little to mellow for me! For kind of what your describing i'd go LM2 though....

LM2 is not gonna be much different from a LM1. Just a little less loudness with the same drone and rasp.

Default Cat Back

I've had the LM1 and on a stock cube catted engine, not too bad.

I then stuck it on a 402, Too raspy.

I went with the Mufflex 4" with a straight through Magnaflow. The fitment needed a lil work but turned out ok.

Buy a exhaust for the long run. If you don't have headers now then why buy a exhaust again? Buy it right the first time and spend the money elsewhere.
