Mufflex and spin tech??
Mufflex and spin tech?? I'm thinking of changing my borla to a 4" mufflex system with a spintech muffler. I've heard that the spintech doesn't flow very well. Anyone know the flow of this system/muffler??? This will be on a heads/cam car.
The sound of the Spintech alone will make it worth your while. I've got a 4" setup with the dual exit Spintech and it sounds awesome. Didn't gain anything at the track when I ran open headers.
The 4" mufflex is a great setup with the spintek. I had mac headers and ORP and had to have the catback adjusted to keep from ratteling. When i did my QTP long tubes. I had the Y pipe made at a local shop, instead of trusting a aftermarket y pipe for fit. I had it done cheeper as well in 3.5 pipe. This is the best catback setup for the cost on the street. Its has a deep sound and is tollerable at idle. At WOT its sounds great..
I lost 25-30 RWHP and about the same amount of torque over open headers with the Spintech in place (on a G5X2 heads/cam car). Y-pipe is a one-off job made from stainless 3" into a Flowmaster collector that went into the Mufflex setup.
Replaced the 4" Spintech with a 5" Borla (had 4" to 5" adapters made) and gained back damn near all of the power I lost with the Spintech. My "muffled" numbers are down only 3 RWHP from my open header numbers.

My car went from 425rwhp with just an open pipe over the axle to 395rwhp with the 4" spintech muffler, the car also lost 35ftlb's of torque

I had the 4" spintech, and I loved the sound, but it wasn't loud enough for me. I wish I'd gutted the cats before I got rid of it, I'd have loved to heard what it sounded like.
