Default Asp Pulley problems
I dont know if this is a problem or not, but recently my bolt backed out a couple of times.... but now when i tourqed it down to about 140 ftlbs and back the bolt out the pulley comes out with it im like WTF ... so i just reused my old bolt and just drove home becasue i was pissed and tired ..


is this a problem or not ? nothing is stripped .. im just confused

btw i got a new arp bolt im putting in tomorrow and do you think that this pulley could cause slight vibration if its unbalanced .?

Paul with the new bolt use locktite sealan to secure the treat of the bolt in place.

when you first installed the pulley you did use a NEW bolt right? i dont know exactly what i tq'd mine down to but i swear the breaker bar was bout to break i pulled so hard. havent had any problems with mine. you shouldnt have to use locktite as a new bolt should some with some antiseize **** and they are tq to yield.

The bolt is torque to yield. If the pulley is now sloppy, then I would be very concerned that you wore down the pulley or the crank or both from it being loose. Put a new bolt in there and have it torqued properly asap before any more damage is done.

If the pulley came off with the bolt,The pulley is NG.When the bolt backed off before,the pulley probly spun on the crank and opened the clearence.
Time for a new pulley..

Also it needs to be torque'd to 240ft/lbs..

See if the stock pulley is sloppy too. If it starts to go on tight then you should be ok , if not then you got major problems.

I sent you a pm. Sorry about not understanding you at first. If you use a GM bolt you do not need to use loctite and they only cost a couple of bucks.

Yah, the pulley's gotta fit tight on the crank or it will come loose.
