help with Y pipe beating the **** out of my car i went from a TD setup to an ory and catback. i love it except my ory is beating the hell out of the bottom of my car right under my feet. i can see where its hitting and i use a flat bar to pry it down but when im accelerating but once i get to speed, idle, or WOT, it stops... any ideas of how to fix this.. it gets annoying as hell
Im using this, it works from time to time. I think i just need to mess with it a bit more to get it to completely stop the banging.

thanks man, im sure that works but are there any "free" ways of doing it? if not, than i'll pick this up.

I had the same problem and I have the pacesetter headers/y-pipe combo which I hear are about the worst because they fit so closely against the car.
I've done the heater hose thing and it stopped the banging but it created a vibration.
I took it back to the shop that installed it and they loosened the clamps and used a pry bar to pull it away from the car where it bangs and then retightened the clamps. So far it has worked fine.

Get a friend and have him push with his legs under the car to where it's not hitting. Take a really good bunjee cord and wrap it around the hanger or somewhere that it don't get hot and call it a day. Sure it's a rig job but it works great. Mine did this with the duals and it was hitting under the pass seat. Never hit again after I installed it. Just don't tell anyone. lol Mine did stop banging after getting new motor mounts but I only did that cause I had to replace the engine.

I went to Autozone, picked up a foot of heater hose, and used a clamp throught the hose to secure it between the y-pipe and floorpan. I got my inspiration from bobbyd's post right here

free way would be to clearance it with a "dent" which works well.
but the best way is to install poly motor mounts. i did that and now run my exhaust 1/4" from my frame and never have banging.

I've been a part of three sets of LT's/Aftermarket Y-pipe and three sets of Poly Motor Mounts installed on three different 4th Gen F-body's. Not one of them has ever had a single "bangin' Y-pipe" issue.
You can cobble together something as a remedy or you can solve the problem as the included posts suggest.
Upgrade your motor mounts to either Poly's or Solids. It's a PITA, but there is a really great write-up on here you can follow and you'll be glad you did it once you've finished.
