Default Fitment on air lid?

Hey guys! I just installed the LS1 Motorsports air lid on my WS6 today. I followed the instructions from the company and picked up a few tips from installuniversity.com. The thing that has me thinking is where the lid connects to the MAF. Toward the bottom of the opening that connects the MAF and the lid, it doesn't seem to fit as well as the top part. I tightened it all down and it seems to be very snug and tight, but I just want to make sure it is set up correctly. Also I used the rubber grommet and IAT sensor that came with my original air lid, and I had no problem with getting it out of the old one and in to the new one. The instructions said it would be very difficult, did I do it right? It seemed to fit well. So far I am not throwing any codes and it seems to be working well. I can tell a slight difference, but not too much. It seems to be a nice addition to the GMMG exhaust. Anyways, and help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

dont worry about the IAT as long as its in there and wont come out your find. just make suer on the lid/maf that its all tight and cant pop out, check for restrictions anywhere else.

I had a few alignment issues with the MAF and air lid, but after tinkering with it for a while I was able to get a good connection. I didn't have much trouble removing my IAT sensor either, so I know what you mean by the misleading directions. Be very careful if you have the car in the shop for service, etc. Make sure the technician knows how to remove the lid if necessary, or just tell them NOT to check the air filter. My lid got cracked due to me not thinking to mention it, and the stupid tech not knowing what he was doing. That was the last time someone besides myself changed the oil in the car. At least the crack didn't result in breaking off a piece, and I was able to crazy glue it back together.
