Default Going to do it myself now...(Header Install)

Well, wasnt going to do the header/ORY-pipe install. But, since im jobless now, i think i will have more then enough time now to do it. I bought pacesetter LT's and their ORY-pipe as well about 3 months ago. I did a quick search but does anyone have any tips or know a website that can give me something to read until i start the job on monday? I will be doing this job probably by myself since everyone else i know has a job . Any tips will be highly appreciative. Thanks

its pretty straight through. just make sure you have all the **** to do it: hand tools (8mm, 10mm, 15mm sockets ect.), breaker bar (optional but very helpful), wd-40, jack/jackstands. removing the stock **** is more troublesome then the actual install.

Yeah its a pretty easy install now that I look back on it. But doing it the 1st time kinda does suck.

Quick tip
Last bolt for the coil pack on the passenger side, get in there with a wrench, forget the ratchet cause you'll never make it. Don't put that last bolt back on when your putting everything back.

Oh yeah your probably gonna need some help when putting the headers on, its kinda tough holding the headers in place while reaching up and putting the nut in, while holding the gaskets in place.

From what im hearing i can re-use the stock gasket. The pacestter headers came with some but they are the cardboard ones and i hear those suck. Should i use any sealant or anything or just bolt it on?

whats the 10mm "gear wrench"? Is that like a closed in wrench that can swivel inside? I started it about 30 minutes ago.. Do i have to take the fuel lines off that run above the driver side coils packs?

you dont need to remove the coil packs period, but it helps though. and you dont need to remove the fuel lines at all.

you do know that you can install your LT from the top and you'll need to do it from the bottom only right?

Yea i figured that it would only go in thrue the bottom. Got the driver side all ready to drop. But the passenger side is a little tight. Am taking the coil packs off on that side to get to the back plug and header bolts.

Leave the coil packs on and remove the back bolts and plugs from under the car. once you get the cats off you can easily get to these.

I removed the coil packs from the passenger side all ready and droped the stock pipe. It gave me more room to get to the back plug and exhaust bolts. No problem there.. The coil packs wont be hard to put back on.... I was reading in a search where it said to take of the valve cover??? Wasnt going to do that. But all in al it worked out good.. Took a little long but i did it by myself and only had 2 small jackstands to put the car in the air..

By yourself on jack stands. I'd say you are doing pretty good! I did mine by myself. It took about seven hours BUT... I had a lift. I probably raised and lowered it 25 times. It helped out alot. The hard part should be over! The only problem I had putting the new ones in was with the steering linkage. It fought me a little bit. Good luck with the rest.

One more question.. When i bought the headers and all i also got some MSD wires and the 55 plugs. When reinstall the plugs should i reuse those metal protectors that came off when i took off the old wires?

I reused them when I installed my Taylor wires. Personally I think that it is overkill but using a 10.4 mm wire is also overkill. If they fit, why not reuse them.
