Belt Tensioners?

Belt Tensioners? I think mine is shot. I put a new Dayco belt on and it kept throwing it at high RPMs. I put the old Napa one back on, and it's just fine. Would you all say it's time for a new tensioner? If so, is a new AC one fine?

If the old belt works fine then I'd say you have a bad new belt, if you get a new pulley get what is known as the Larry pulley from www.aspracing.com .

I'm not really feeling the price of the billet ones. I'll probably stick with an OEM. If it's going to be able to handle say 450hp, then that'll make me happy. Thanks for the replies!
I had the same problem on my H/C setup, kept throwing the belt at high rpm/heavy accelleration. I installed the katech tensioner-no problems since.
