Default o2 questions?

my buddy came over and hooked up a guage in the obd2 plug and we looked at the front o2 sensors at idle..the driverside was bouncing from about 100 to 890 the passenger side was between 350 to 500 does that sound right?
is it going bad? i have no ses or codes..what do they normally run at?thanks

i got a 98 trans am stock..

I believe they should be bouncing between 400-900. Since we're on the subject I wanted to know if anyone can answer this question. Do LS1s not have the same system as everyone else where the ECU goes into Open Loop when at WOT, meaning the O2 sensors feedback is no longer used by the ECU?

So regardless of whether my O2 sensors are functioning properly, my WOT performance would not be affected.

Im pretty sure thats how it works. Like when your O2s are bad and it has trouble taking off if you go WOT after about 2 seconds it will just take off like nothing is wrong.

How many miles ae on the sensors? Are they throwing any codes...even if they arent I say a fresh set of O2's are always a good idea if they have alot of mileage on them...the maf sensor and the front o2's are very crucial sensors and I think they should always be in tip top shape

I got 135,000 on my O2's. It just threw a P0133 code over the weekend.
Now I got to fix that problem. If it isn't one thing it's another.

I have logged my narrowband sensors with efilive and they range from 045 to 950 mv. Can you swap the sensors from side to side to see if the weak reading follows the sensor? or borrow a replacement and look for a change. Unless there's a connectivity problem, I would think the sensor is on its way out. A movement of only 150 mv should trigger the P105x - O2 sensor x slow circuit response code at some point. If you have a scanner, that code and perhaps another may be pending.
