Default Been thinking of getting a new Catback which one should I get?

I been looking at the Flowmaster and the MAC and the Rumbler I just don't know which one sounds good I want something different from which everybody has does anybody have any clips of the MAC exhaust looked on LS1sounds.com but sounds destorted. Flowmaster looks kind of ugly because of the tailpipes pointing down any opinions. Oh I currently have pacesetter LT's and ORY with hooker catback with a cutout on the I-pipe.

I say if you want something different and that sounds good, id take the chance on MAC. Ive read a few reviews on here and people that owned it really liked it. Although its not widely used by F body guys, Crustangs have been using them for many years with success. How bad can MAC be?

I would say to keep the hooker if you plan on cammin the car later. It will change the tone of it, but if you just want a different note period you can save alot of money swapping mufflers. New catback systems are costly, but I'm sure you know that already. Jegs offers a system also and there arent many with that setup. I think I'm one of the few that actually have one or atleast says I do.

I didnt realize you already had a Hooker catback...although they are commonly used theres a reason for that. They flow good and sound good too. Id stick with that since youve got it already....

I was reading your post and thinking about how I like to do things that aren't mainstream as well. It occurred to me that you didn't mention not liking the current set up either. It was then that I realized something special about our cars... there just are not that many modded LS1's on the street. I live in Fort Worth, and drive all around the metroplex, and just don't see many of our cars on a daily bases. So in essence, you are already doing it different!

I'd have to say drop it off at an exhaust shop and do something completely custom. Other wise your just going to do something some else has already done before... Just my .02

hooker and magnaflow will probably be the most popular choices for catbacks. i think the hooker sounds better than the magnaflow as its more deeper and muscluar sound. i think magnaflow is more of a smooth, crisp sound well for me anyways. Another catback, that i also thought sounded very good and i think is pretty well priced is the random technology catback. sounds very good.

What's wrong with the LM2?? I have it and think it sounds just fine. Its no where near as loud or as raspy as everyone says it is.

No, I don't have long tubes or a cam, but personally, once those are added unless your running a magnaflow, there all too loud. I like my LM2 but I'm starting to miss my old GMMG.... But I got you, after looking throught the lm2 muffler I could see how it gets loud in a hurry with long tubes.

I've had it before and liked it but after awhile the rasp and loudness got old. Switched to a Borla xr-1 and it made it a little better but the powerflo has no rasp and a nice deep tone.

I have had quite a few catbacks on my lt1 and ls1 cars.
B and B..full stainless ,exotic sounding, not too loud. Ran it with stock exhaust manifolds and cats and then with tts headers and high flow cats. Ran it with my aps twin kit and 408 for awhile.
As said no real complaints but just got bored and wanted to try some different ones.

Have magnaflow on my wifes 96z. Nice sound, full stainless. Have had some problems with hangers breaking where its welded to pipe. One is broken now have to get it tigged I guess since its stainless. Here car has cats and stock exhaust . Bit of drone and bit too loud for us being a vert so added a flo pro race bullet into intermediate pipe. Sounds about perfect now.Still a bit o drone though at certain speeds.

Hooker aerochamber. not stainless pretty inexpensive but mandrel bent. Great sound ,not much drone at all. Heard it first on local guys 94z with headers and high flow cat. Tried it on the 99TT. It was ok on there but wanted something bit different again.

So put on Corsa. full stainless, a bit loud ,just installed it very close to end of season so not sure yet aobut full report. I like the no drone stuff, like the full top stainless ,didn't like the price much! ouch!. I may put one if really like this one on the wifes 96z as hate any drone at all in that car.

Been in buddies loudmount car..not sure which version. He has my old tts headers and high flo ats. Way too loud for me. And pretty sure cops think so too.

Hooker should make a full stainless aerochamber catback and just charge a bit more. They may possibly offer a stainless aerchamber muffler now not sure.
