Default u bolt on clutch master cylinder

Hey guys,

So today I was trying to take my clutch master cylinder out and I took everything out and was going to put the master out and it does not come out. It looks like that u-bolt is in the way. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get this out like is there anyway to take that u-bolt out. Thanks everyone.

This would probably be better off in the manual trans section, but you need to remove the u-bolt first. It can be a pita to get out, but it comes out.

Yeah the U bolt comes out with some patience. Make sure you take off the star washers that are attached to it once it comes thru the fire wall. You might have to get a pair of dykes and just cut them off. Getting it all back together is the fun part.

Agree'd with the previous posts....double check the star washers and then just take your time and remove it....and if you think this is the hard part wait till you try to put it back together....

Really?? Thats odd. The star washers are located under the plastic that covers the studs on the inside of the car. I would double check to make sure that you didnt miss them. It took me a little while to realize I had the same issue. If thats not the case then maybe just use something to bang it loose from the inside of the car. But I am almost positive that those star washers are still holding it in.

it can be done, but is a pain in the ***** to get back in, if you think you can get it back in by yourself, you are wrong, I spend 1 hour tring to get it back in bymyself before I had to have my brother help me line up the holes

At this point banging on the end still in the car is an option. The better option is to get the end that's out back in; you want the u bolt coming out straight on. Bang a little on each side till it's out.

If the clutch peddle sticks every once and a while does that mean it's the master cylinder. Or the slave. It sounds like when your holding the clutch peddle in, it sounds like it's releasing down by the tranny. Any thoughts about that. Thanks
