Default TPS problems

My car started idling very high around 1,800 and throwing a check engine code. so I took it to nappa and I was throwing a TPS code and then it clicked.. a buddy said he was going to clean my intake MAF and such while I Was waxing the car. welll long story short he used WD-40.....

So my question is do I need to replace the MAF or just the TPS?
where would I get just a TPS?
would it hurt to drive around with the TPS sensor replaced?

Get some cleaner made for cleaning a MAF, and tell your buddy to stay the hell away from your car.

I'd try using MAF cleaner. Cleaning it should solve the problem, but if the hot wires came in contact with anything you may have to buy a new MAF. This sounds to me like a MAF issue. WTF was he doing with WD 40?

+1 for spraying the WD 40 down the "friend"'s throat. If you don't know what you're doing then stay away from the car.

Clean the maf and TB but most likely if the TPS sensor is throwing a code it is bad as it is reading the sensor itself, not throwing a IAC/MAF or idle code.

They are cheap and a 5 minute fix.
