Default 550 for a catted y pipe ouch

So I called my local exhaust shop and thats what I got for a quote just to the I pipe which is stock and only 2.75" so I would have to fix that too. I am thinking of doing a temp fix until I can do it right and cheaper hopefully. And using the shitty stock y pipe which will be terrible for flow and just slapping a pipe of the header and clamping until I can get the catted Y pipe from the people who made my headers that I bought off ebay. which were a sweet deal for stainless for only $275

who did you buy your headers from?

you might try calling around more... exhaust work for some reason really varies from shop to shop. People who get custom true dual exhaust can get all different quotes depending on the place. I've seen some people get practically the same job done for 500 less than others.

Yeah like he said shop around. I had one guy quote me $1600 for duals, went down a block to the next shop and he only wanted $450.
This is back when I had my GTO.
