Default Typhoon intake/Injectors...

So ive set my eyes on a typhoon intake that comes with the fuel rails... Ive read that alot of 04 owners have had to upgrade to 42# injectors because the stock ones become maxed out.
Was that with the 96mm typhoon or the 85mm.

And how come they sell the 96mm typhoon but for some reason they dont sell a 96mm throttlebody for the 04 gto. Any options out there? like can the nick williams throttle body connect to the typhoon?

Can i get away with stock injectors for now?

i think u might be thinking of a cammed set up. u can benefit from upping the injectors on a stock motor but idk about 42#'s...maybe 30 something.

btw i have a small cam on stock injectors, stock ls1 intake and put down 375hp. trust me u can get by with stockers for now. also there is a section for fuel delivery questions.

Well im cammed right now with a torquer v3 cam. im putting 366 to the wheels and 342 ft/lbs to the wheels. Ive been told by other members that they have the typhoon with the 85mm throttle body and there injectors are being maxed out. some 90% and some 95%

holy **** u only made 366/342? wtf? stock heads? A4? who tuned your car? yes u need 42# injectors...you also ether need bigger heads or a smaller cam...

you should have listed your set up details from the get go. so since i am still shooting in the dark, PLEASE list all of your mods then we can go from there.

Hmm looks like thats pretty low to you lol. Thats all the mods that would make a difference in power.

no CAI? pushrods? timing set? valve springs? i can tell you straight up that you are starving that cam. you need a fast 92/92 and 42 lb injectors. plus a bigger MAF and whatever big bore CAI you can get for the gto. and honestly that cam needs heads, i would say at least PRC stg I ls6's. also a dyno jet and some1 who knows how to tune would help a lot too. but i wouldn't tune it again till you've dropped about $2k in parts.

I've personally heard many bad things on here about the fitment and sealing of the Typhoon Intake... no personal experience. Just word of mouth.

Might wanna check into it...

ok thats better haha. i think the best advice i could give you is to go hit up the regional section and find a shop near you that has a dyno jet, hp tuners, and knows lsx cars. something tells me the shop you went to isn't the best.

but maybe if you are on a budget you could get away with an 85mm typhoon intake. but injectors are a must.

My buddy just put a 96mm Typhoon intake on his 04 GTO. Couple things to keep in mind, you will need an o-ring kit for your injectors from Lingenfelter. Also the MAP sensors mounts on the front and you will need to buy the Katech map sensor harness to extend your wiring. This is an LS2 style intake, he is running a 92mm Fast "big mouth" throttle body but he is selling that and buying a 96mm intake. This is mostly a show car so he wanted the polished intake.

Im happy here w/ my Typhoon 85mm Intake & Professional Products 85mm tb here. Definately noticed a power increase over the stock intake and P&P TB..there were some fitment/sealing issues when they first came out but have since been resolved. Professional products has supposedly been coming out w/ the 96mm tb for almost 3 years...id assume by now its not coming out....Id go w/ another company, you should be fine w/ a 90-92mm or above TB. Remember PP sells 2 different 96mm intakes, one for the LS1 and one for the LS2...You injectors will ONLY fit the one made for the LS1 and they will work fine.
