Aftermarket Water Temp Gauge Reads On The Cold side????

Is it possible that your wiring is not right? Does this gauge require a 12v source? I know that on my trans temp gauge I was not getting a full 12v (i was getting about 10.x) because of a bad connection and it was causing the gauge to read low. I found a good 12v source and it reads spot on now.

They make in-line hose adapters.... Just not sure if it's as accurate as reading it from the head...

Just to throw this out there, maybe its not off?
If you're running a 160* thermostat and it opens at 160* but doesn't shut until 80-100*, maybe once you're moving the cooling system is working quite well?
My 98 gauge is accurate and I never get about 180* with a stock 195* thermostat.
Just trying to put in a different view. You seem to be having a lot of problems with your cooling system from your other thread you posted.

Using the OEM sensor and location, when my LO fan turns on (at 190) my aftermarket water temp gauge reads 155.. Now I am not sure if there is that much of a temperature difference between that aftermaket location and the OEM location?
This is back in April... Could this even be true?

I took the car out today, and it is about ~50ºF outside. I was on the hwy and my low fans turned off. Remember they are set to go on at 190ºF and off at 180ºF. My aftermarket water temp was reading 135ºF.. That cannot be possible. I do have a 160 T-stat in there but there is no way that my car can get that cold??
Like I said I think the gauge is off by 35ºF. B/C if that is the case, then when my gauge was reading 135ºF and there is a 35ºF difference, it should of indeed been reading 170ºF which would make sense..
Fvck man, I dont want to take the gaguge out. These are a PITA.. Anyone have a way to recalibrate it w/o sending it back to the company?

Update
Well after figuring out the coolant flow, I have established that my cars coolant system is perfectly fine.
The passenger side head is on the suction side of the water pump making the coolant cooler when it hits the aftermarket sensor. So my water temperature gague is reading correctly. Yesterday it was about 84ºF outside, my aftermarket water temp gague was reading about 185ºF.
Now the drivers side head is on the discharge side, so the coolant gets heated up before it gets to the head and reads higher. Hence why my LO fan is on the majority of the time. And we know the sensor for the fans on the drivers side head is what sends a signal to the PCM to turn the fans on.
So there is my 35ºF temperature difference. And according to my buddies aftermarket water temp gague and chrs1313 aftermarket water temp gague mine is reading correct
And I challenge you all to see when your fans are running. If you have gotten the tuned to come on earlier you will see..
So for me my LO comes on at 190ºF and turns off at 180ºF.. My HI turns on at 210ºF and off at 200ºF
