Post K&N Cold air intake, or No?

I absolutely hate seeing those on cars because ALOT of people think just because they put one on their car it's instantly an 11 sec car..

But honestly is it a more hp gain than the ram air hood on the 2000 ss camaros?

Is it worth replacing?

If you hate seeing them, I wouldn't get one. Besides the vast majority of people on here use a lid/bellows setup.

I love mine because it whistles at idle and whistles even louder with throttle applied. The suction sound is much louder also when you pull the throttle cable. My friends all think its badass. The only con is that its pricey for what it is and your maf will eventually get dirty but just get a 5 dollar can of maf cleaner and you will be fine.

Yes over the stocker it will certainly. I've had my car on the dyno but I never compared with it on or without but. Before I got my 228r cam put in I had almost 350rwhp(349.6) with just the K&N cold air with full exhaust in a m6 car with the stock ls1 intake manifold.

Over stock definatley. ESPECIALLY with the ram air mod, it will be better and worth the price.

I use one on my car. With it and full exhaust on an A4, I put down 340rwhp.

K&N says you will gain 14.74hp @ 5300, it doesn't say that its on a RAM air car or not.

I have a fipk that's been sitting around for the past 3 yrs. I have thought about putting it on again, but need to do a ram air setup to get more air to it.

From all my research the gains are pretty much the same as a lid setup, it comes down to just personal preference

Several years ago, I brought both setups to the track, and ran several passes with each (the lid setup was using the SLP ram-air), and the lid/ram-air setup was about a tenth and 1 mph faster on average. Not much of a difference, and well within the margin of error, but out of 4 or 5 runs on each, the Fastest run with the FIPK was still slower than my worst run with the lid. If you opened up the fipk to work with the fra it would probably be identical for the two setups.

And with that said, I still kept the fipk because it's different, I like the look, and LOVE the sound
