Yes, the 2001/2002 LS1's will have the LS6 intake but I can't say for certain about the early production 01 models though. There is only a 5-7HP difference between the intakes, and the 01/02 LS1's had a milder cam. If you find a nice 99-00 you should consider it. Most of the HP gain with the LS6 intake is above 5,000 RPM.
The casting numbers for the LS6 design are 12573572 and 12561184 which is stamped on the manifold. The LS1 is 12560688.
Another benefit of the 2001/2002 model years is they got rid of the EGR with the LS6 intake.

YEA!!! Finally somebody on here who knows WTF they are talking about
The LS6 will make a few more on a modded motor as it will support a little more rpm......

Do keep in mind that if someone owned a 01/02 car and happened to part it out, they could have easily swapped a LS1 manifold from a Corvette and sold their LS6 intake... As old as these 4th gens are, this might occur more often as the cars have changed hands several times.
