Default Another GMMG question

Hey guys. Currently, my exhaust is: ceramic coated MACs, flowmaster y-pipe, and it runs 3 inch through a dynomax I pipe, into a single in/out 3" Aero Chamber. I also have a Hotcam

As it is now, I love the idle. When I start her up in the morning, I can feel the closer rooms to the garage shaking (sometimes things fall off the wall ) and all the further rooms I still hear a nice big rumble

But, at open throttle, it's quieter than it is at idle! Even WOT isn't very loud. I installed a cutout, this makes it VERY loud, but also VERY raspy. I hate the dumptruck sound it has under 3000 RPMS. Above that though, it sounds very good

But since I don't drive the **** out of my Camaro like that (constantly over 3,000 rpms), I want to change my exhaust. I've done a lot of research, and had it narrowed down to True Duals or GMMG. Well, I've finally come with my answer, I want GMMG

Does anyone run a GMMG with headers, no cats, and a Hotcam? I'm guessing it'll be raspy, so should I stick a bullet in there, or get some high flow cats (I'd get mine from Random Tech)? I'm making this car to a true street car, and I don't want cutouts anymore. Also, how much would I gain getting Long Tubes over the midlength MACs? What about sound difference? Thanks in advance

GMMG really isn't a raspy system even without cats. I have a vid of a formula on the dyno with LT's, no cats, and GMMG

Sweet, thanks

So I take it you are saying it will sound good? Won't lose that awesome sound it has? The clips off the GMMG site sound damn AMAZING! (especially the longer one with the Blackbird getting off the trailor) I want mine to sound just like that, if possible

IMHO GMMG is the best sounding catback out there. But you can custom make your own GMMG style system for so much cheaper

Could do a custom one yeah. How much would that run me? I would rather pay more and have it already made if I could, shops around here aren't so great, and I don't trust myself to do that

I'm not totally sure how much the custom job would be. You would need two sweet thunder chambered mufflers that are the correct size, a y-collector, tips, and then correct mandrel bends.

PMing vid to you now

Sounds good in the video, though I can hear a bit of rasp in it =\

Would a bullet get rid of most/any of the rasp? I'd hate to have to spend so much money on Random Tech high flow cats, they are expensive! Maybe if I bought some used factory ones?

There are bunches on there. I'm guessing they are universal so long as they fit the pipes? How big are the pipes coming off the headers, or should I ask the original owner this? I have no idea what size they are, until after the Y-Pipe (3")

I'm not sure of the part # but if you search for carsound here i'm sure you'll find what part# the correct one is. Or at least what sizes you need.

So this is what I'll need

Link here

I'm going to give the original owner a PM and see what size those pipes are. It's probably either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2. Guess I'll have to ask
