Default Problems at dyno today

Ok so I resently had a 5.3 stage 2.5 heads from tsp along w tsunami cam, lt pace and ory installed and rod bolts to strengthen the bottom. Went to RPM in garner to have it tuned, first pull nothing done, 418 hp 385 tq. second pull w some changes, lower and so on untill a terrible clanging sound durring a pull. Turned off and started again. Not making sound at idle but after 1500 there it goes. pulled valve covers off and inspected heads, good. Took switches off of injectors one by one while car was making noise and found out it was the first cylinder. Likely a bearing they say, idk. Looking for some help. Any info would help thanks guys.

Should i rebuild the motor? Running on limited funds so upgrading at this point isnt doable. Just buy a shortblock and replace it?

so a couple of guys say it was the mechanics fault when he installed the rod bolts. Say he should have put new bearings in and could have forgotten to tighten one. May have been missmatched rod caps, who knows untill it gets broken down. gonna see if he will take a look at it.

You won't know till you pull it. Could be one rod caps didn't get torqued down. If it is swithced rod caps-bad. Hope it turns out okay and is something simple.

RPM is a very respectable shop and I know everybody there. I wouldn't bet it was there fault but only time will tell. Do you know who did the work there?

FYI, you should never just flop new bearings in while doing the rod bolts. New bearings require the big end to be put back in round. Also what rod bolts were installed? ARP's or Katech's? If you used ARP's the big end needs to be put back into round as well. Katech's are the only purely drop in rod bolt.

Lol touche, I guess what I was implying for example would be someone on here who never did a cam swap etc and looked up JRP's guide on LS1How To

When are you gonna have the motor apart to look at everything OP?
