question about my setup this past weekend i put in my pacesetters and installed my summit 3' x. i lost alot of ground clearence beacause of how big the pipes are and i have 2 borla xr1's on the end and they hang really low any big bumps and it hits but its not terrible. my question is if i just run the piping straight back to the bumper without mufflers is that ok or is that to free flowing and will hurt my motor? ive been told that running our cars like that will lean out the cylinders. any info would be great.
You can do that if you want, but IMO it sounds pretty terrible. It shouldn't lean out the cylinders as long you have more than 18" pipe coming off the headers. These cars also benefit from a little bit of back pressure, so I would expect you would lose just a little low end power without the mufflers.
