That's awesome! No one around here does that good of work that I've seen.

What I can't understand is, I've had a set of duals for sale for months and no one has bought them. I have pics I've sent to probably close to 100 people and everyone says they're great but they have not come up with the cash. I have pics up on ls1.com if you care to see them.

honestly if you still have a set for sale in a couple months I would prolly buy em, but I'm dead broke and this was the easiest way for me to get the headers on right now. I've had the headers sitting in the garage for 3 months waiting for something to mount on em.

I didn't need to remove the oil filter or anything. I did have to cut a little on the K member, but that was expected. The passenger side went in real easy after we jacked the car up more. We broke a bolt off on the driver side, that was a mess. All in all it wasn't hard at all, was less stressfull than the Macs I did before. When we came to the Y pipe, that was a different story. We didn't check to see that they fit right off the car, that was our mistake. When we went to slide the Y on, it wouldn't go on. The Y was too small to go over the collector on the headers. So tomorrow we are going to a muffler shop to have it all welded. Also I made my own O2 extensions and had to mill out the lip in one of the bungs so the O2 would go in. Wasn't a bad install and I hope i get everything sorted out tomorrow so I can drive it around. It was WAY too loud open headers. But was cool to hear for a little bit.
I just got my Pacesetters and y-pipe Tuesday. I went ahead and put them together to see if everything fit before I started installing. I had the same problem with the y-pipe that you had. The drivers side slide over just fine. The passengers side was another story, the header collector was too big or the y-pipe opening was too small. I am going to have to take it to a muffler shop and have them stretch it just a little. Were both of yours too small or just one side?

This fit problem is minor compared to the lousy flowing Y pipe they send:

Look at the weld build up. The hole is smaller than the pipe.

Yeah, I looked in mine and it is pretty sorry also. I can't believe they can't (or won't) do a better job than that. It looks like they are teaching a welding class and these are the beginners doing the work.

I wonder if I can get a grinder in there to take some of the extra metal off. I guess you get what you pay for.

You can grind some of that out but here's a better fix:

I replaced the Pace Setter collector with this Flowmaster dual 3" x 3 1/2" collector.

I had a hell of a time getting my y-pipe on, but being the genius folks we are, we unhung the catback on the back passenger side and it slide on in about 10 minutes with that out of the way. Not sure if this is the problem people are having, but it sure as hell was a problem with my Loudmouth.

I didn't even have my catback on when I did my install. I had the exaust shop mount it and line all that up. Mine just wouldn't slip on the collectors and had to be streched.
