http://www.ls1camaro.net/sections.ph...ticle&artid=68

i pretty much used this info to do mine, except I used a bunch of nuts between the coils on the rod to hold the coils inplace. Otherwise they might kinda move a lil, since its hard to get the rod size perfect.
heres a crappy pic of mine for right now, I had more pics but they're on my other computer

This is to take your coil packs off of your valve covers and give your engine bay a cleaner look. You can do this with all the years except 98.... they attach to the valve cover differently.

Why would it not work with the 98's? Has anyone relocated them on a 98?

I did this to my car also. I used a 2 inch section of 3/8" rubber fuel hose between the coil packs to keep them from vibrating/ moving around. I have pics at the link in my sig. Look for the car pics folder.

you have to get custom cut to fit plug wires for an LT1, i have heard that you can just use the normal LT! wires as well, but havent had anyone give me confermation on that.

Can't fit on a 98? I have a 98 and the coil relocation works just fine, all LS1 coils have the same mounting holes. Those are whats being used to tie em together. You can get a set of 99-02 valvecovers for a cleaner look, the 98 covers look awful when naked.
Here are a few pics of the TR/jay fisher coil relocation kit. Off the car to give you a good idea of what to buy if doing it yourself.

on the passenger side coil bracket/ the bracket is offset to clear the HVAC box underneath the cowl. I bought the TR kit, because it was just that a complete kit. I didn't have to mess with finding the right ends to complete the sparkplug wires and I didn't have to mess with all the cutting of spacers, brackets and threaded rod. Some will have the time to do that, but I was finishing an engine install so that took up all my time. The TR kit is real convienent.(sp?)

That is what I was saying.... I think that it look like shyt on the 98 valve covers The 99-02 valve covers will not fit on 98 heads... the 98's attach with like 8 bolts arond the lip of the cover.... while the 99-02's attach with 3 bolts down the center of the cover. If you have found valve covers for 98 heads let me know
