FAST Intakes @ Thunder Racing...THEY'RE HERE!
Jeff,
On a stock LS1, we saw about a 20 hp. increase. We saw about 15 hp over the
LS6 manifold. The manifold is available in either a 78 or 90 mm version.
The 90 mm is used in application like heads, cam, power adder applications.
Where as the 78 mm is utilized in more "minor" bolt on applications.
The cost of the 78 mm is $875.00 and the 90 mm is $962.00. The manifold
will be available for purchase in the first week of January. We are now
taking orders for the first run. If you would like to purchase one of the
LSX's, give me a buzz at (662)-224-9336.
Regards,
There are some very switched on people there who can go right into it for you. The HSV GTS300 is different in that it has has a massage by Callaway there in the US...heads , cam etc...the MAFless tune for it was coded here by HSV. The LS1 edit tuners here use this code as a basis for their custom work where a customer wants a MAFless tune.
Problem may be for US owners that all your LS1s are tuned from the factory to use a MAF regardless of the car built...C5 or humble F-Body and so there is no local code for a MAFless setup. Not sure if our tune will suit your cars and I think the computers are a wee bit different from memory. Post a query on our site and see if someone like 'Delco' has an answer for you. I suspect there is a difficulty only because if it were easy to use in US computers, I'd expect to be seeing quite a few US cars sans their MAFs by now.
If your going with a 90mm TB , it might be nice to be 90mm all the way through the induction path rather than stuffing air past a 84-85mm MAF. A MAfless tune is an obvious way of removing that bottleneck.
I noticed someone above mention a 90mm 'Pro M' MAF...that might do the trick too of course....I didn't realise a 90mm MAF existed for our cars. Live and learn I guess.
But lots of people here love the MAFless tunes , no dramas running off the MAP sensor and we are a couple of years on from the first custom versions of this style of tuning
Perhaps some switched on tuners there (not your 'mailorder tuners') have or are in the process of looking at 'loosing the MAF'. Dunno.Cheers,
Brian

JEFF,
How's the FLorida life treating you brother!!! HOpe all is well. I can truly say in the middle of a Chicago winter(all be it a mild on so far) i would MUCH RATHER be in FLA right now than Chicago!!!
Anyone/THUNDER:
Any results yet from the 03 z06 with bolt ons that you were going to test today Saturday, with the LSX intake?

As you can see, life aint too bad...

off with the 90mm version with the 90mm TB from FAST? When GTP gets his intakes
in, he has one set aside for me after he gets done testing it to see if it will help with my new setup. I saw it as SEMA and it looks like it has a lot of potential. Since i'll need either a 85mm or 90mm TB, maybe the intake is worth trying. I just keep thinking the 90mm intake might be alittle too big even for a 383 stroker with a 12#-15# D1SC kit. But i'll just wait til Craig from GTP calls me and gives me the scoop.
my friend (a member here) is getting one for his zo6 in march..
