Default Are all poly motor mounts created equal?

Is there a "better brand" or style to use when it comes to poly motor mounts? They'll be installed in a 2002 Camaro Z28. I wasn't sure if there was a more troublesome brand or something.

Thanks

Thumbs up

Yes, Prothane engine mounts go in super easy!

NOT !, I don't think it really matters, since the install is a PAIN regardless which brand you get!

Isn't this going to be dependant on what the driver wants out of the car? Drag racing vs. daily driving?

Yeah, installing the poly mounts is a pain, but the end results were worth it!

I'm paying a shop to do it because I don't have the time (or desire) to do it myself right now. If a poly motor mount is a poly motor mount, I'll just order whatever I find at a good price then?

If poly mounts are "the hardest" then Id hate to see you do a stall swap or 4L80E install

Ive done 4 sets of polys and am about to do one for my swap. Its not too difficult, just remember to leave all the mount bolts loose until you get both of the big through bolts in. Leaving the trans mount loose also helps some

dude i done heads, cams, motor swaps, tranny swaps, rear ends, full suspentions...pretty much everything you can do to these cars...all on cinder blocks in my drive way. i know how to get things done and do all my own work.

the mount swap went smooth on the passanger side...to smooth actually but when it came down to that driverside mount getting that through bolt to line up took all my energy. It was a big bitch thats all im tring to get across. for such a simple part it take awhile to get done.

I've heard that Energy Suspensions Poly motor mounts are slightly softer than Prothanes. I personally used Prothane. It's the most common out there.

If you do motor mounts when you're doing headers, it's really not that tough. You don't have to remove anything else on the driver's side, and the passenger side requires you to simply unbolt the a/c compressor.

Plan your work wisely, and do the mounts when you do headers and you save yourself the headache of "why is my ypipe banging the floor boards".

NO THEY ARE NOT !

do NOT get energy suspension, I installed those and they were loose inside the clamshells, didn't fit well and were an incredible PITA !. I ended up doing it twice

I went prothane, and have used them on two seperate cars now, and they kick ***. They fit tight in the clamshell not that difficult to install etc....

I'm telling you man, get prothane (ask me how I know lol).
